Youth Leaders Strategize to Help Local Communities in Malaysia

With support from the U.S. Embassy, Youth Exchange &  Study (YES) alumni who participated in various American Field Service (AFS) exchange programs organized a weekend leadership camp from October 2 to 4, 2009 for the growing number of YES alumni from different states in Malaysia.  Over 35 young Malaysian leaders attended the three-day leadership camp.  Various activities were held at the camp and the alumni interacted and brainstormed new ideas for upcoming community service events and worked on cultivating the leadership skills of the alumni. Their goal was to enhance teamwork among alumni members and foster better networking for future contributions to their local communities in Malaysia.
