On November 15, the U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur held a multimedia webchat in conjunction with International Education Week featuring two panelists, Doreen John, Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE) Coordinator of Advising Services and Vice-Consul Joshua Shen representing the Embassy’s consular section.  They  engaged the audience by discussing the various opportunities available for undergraduate studies in the United States and the procedures for applying for a student visa.  Both provided individual powerpoint presentations on their particular subject-matter expertise which was available to participants for viewing during the program and also online after the webchat.  The two engaged in a lively Q&A session with over 21 guests logging in from all over Malaysia, locations ranged from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Petaling Jaya.

The webchat explains the basics of the U.S. system of higher education and how to select and apply to undergradute programs at U.S. universities.
