Uncle Sam Wins 'American Idol' Title in Malaysia's Rice Bowl Region

‘Young democracy in action!’ Participants vote for Uncle Sam to be their next ‘American Idol.’

On January 28, the Lincoln Corner in Kedah, Malaysia’s principal rice-growing state, hosted a fun-filled day featuring American storytelling for 180 school children.  Lincoln Corner staff donned American costumes to engage the children and encourage their active participation in reading, singing, and dancing activities in connection with American children’s stories.  Amazingly, the children selected Uncle Sam as their (next) American idol storyteller over other favorites including the Wizard of Oz, Batman and SpongeBob Square Pants.
