LRC librarian discusses the Web 2.0 tools with MACEE staff.

Responding to a request from the Fulbright Commission (Malaysian American Commission on Educational Exchange-MACEE) Lincoln Resource Center (LRC) librarians delivered presentations before executive and support staff on June 26 at MACEE.  In their presentations, the LRC librarians introduced Web 2.0, the new social networking media which is gaining enormous popularity as a public outreach tool by many organizations, including the U.S. government.

They then led hands-on training for the select MACEE audience, encouraging them to experiment with blogs, facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, and Flickr, among other aspects of Web 2.0.  The presenters emphasized that Web.  2.0. tools could help MACEE, its products, services and programs attract, engage and receive feedback from Malaysia’s growing demographic segments, especially young adults.
