American Professor worked with 15 Journalists on Narrative Reporting
Professor Janet Steele from George Washington University worked with fifteen journalists from the National News Agency BERNAMA in a three-day workshop on Narrative Journalism on June 22, June 25 and July 1. The workshop focused on narrative news writing as a genre and discussed the goals and the ethics of good journalism in general.
A combination of theory and practice, the workshop provided participants with tools so that they as print journalists can compete with other media by engaging readers with stories that are more in-depth, better written and more analytical. The participants were effusive in their praise of the sessions’ content and methodology and they plan to put their new skills to use right away. They anticipate that this interaction will greatly help their reporting.
