EducationUSA Kuala Lumpur Hosts the 2012 East Asia and Pacific Triennial Conference

EducationUSA and the Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE) hosted the 2012 EducationUSA East Asia and Pacific Triennial Conference March 31 - April 2 at the Crowne Mutiara Plaza in Kuala Lumpur.
Over 70 advisers from 25 countries, and more than 100 U.S. higher education representatives attended the three-day conference which included a U.S. higher education fair for prospective students from Malaysia. The event was designed to strengthen the South East Asia EducationUSA advising network and enhance the quality and portfolio of services provided to prospective international students and the U.S. higher education community. The event concluded with a closing reception attended by Deputy Chief of Mission Lee McClenny. In his remarks, DCM McClenny noted to the crowd over 7,000 Malaysians studied in the U.S. this past year. He also added that Malaysia is a great short and long-term investment for recruiting students to study in the U.S. colleges or universities.
EducationUSA is a global network of almost 400 advising centers supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) at the U.S. Department of State. It fosters mutual understanding between the United States and other countries, and actively promotes U.S. higher education around the world by offering accurate, unbiased, comprehensive, objective and timely information about educational institutions in the U.S. as well as guidance to qualified individuals on how best to access those opportunities.
