On November 24, Public Affairs Kuala Lumpur organized a press launch for the 2010 Democracy Video Challenge at a local shopping mall. The event was attended by almost 60 media and guests.
The Embassy engaged seven local partners in this year’s challenge: KRU Studios, 8tv, Malaysian Animation Society, Marketing magazine, LimKokWing University of Creative Technology, Multimedia University and The Laundry Bar.
Together with our main partner KRU Studios and media partner 8tv, the event received good coverage not only in the general news pages but also in the entertainment and social news in print and online. Our partners reaffirmed their commitment to working with Public Affairs Kuala Lumpur to get “at least 100 entries” from Malaysia for this Challenge.
President of KRU Studios, Norman Abdul Halim added, “We believe that this is a unique opportunity for Malaysians to share with the rest of the world our interpretation of democracy in the spirit of 1 Malaysia, and we are proud to be the Main Partner as we have established business links with the US and we foresee the great potential of relations between Malaysia and the US”.
