On Being a Good Diplomat

Defence Attache Captain John Segura gave a presentation on “Globalized Diplomacy: Diplomats of the 21st Century” to 120 entry-level Malaysian government officers at the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations. The officers were undergoing their public administration course at the Johore Campus of the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN). He spoke on the duties of a modern diplomat, which included representing one’s country, professionalism, and the importance of people-to-people relations.
