Malaysian Student Granted $20,000.00 AMCHAM-MACEE Scholarship

In a ceremony at the American-Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) on August 8, Cherish Lo Chen Huay was awarded the 2012 AMCHAM-MACEE Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually to a Malaysian student to pursue a 4-year degree at an American university of his/her choice. Ambassador Jones and American-Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) President Sanjeev Nanavati were on hand to present a ceremonial check for $20,000.00 to Cherish who will attend Union University in Jackson, Tennessee where she will pursue a degree in Managerial Economics.
In his remarks, Ambassador Jones applauded AMCHAM and MACEE for their effort in fulfilling the aspirations of deserving Malaysian who wish to pursue their education at an American university. He also recognized the companies who through their generous financial contributions have allowed for the continuation of the AMCHAM-MACEE Scholarship. The Ambassador congratulated Cherish on her accomplishments and encouraged Cherish to make the most of the next four years and to keep in touch with updates on her experiences in the U.S. The event was attended by AMCHAM Board Members, MACEE personnel, Cherish’s family members, and members of media.
