AMCHAM-MACEE Awards $20,000 Scholarship to Malaysian Student

The American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Annual Awards Ceremony was held on July 28 in the AMCHAM office.  The Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Brian McFeeters presented a mock check representing a scholarship award of U.S. $20,000 to Low Lishan, the 2010 recipient.  Low did his A-levels at Sunway College, Subang Jaya, Selangor, where he earned 3As, 2Bs, and ranked in the 90th percentile in SAT 1 Critical Reading and Writing. He is planning to attend George Fox University and major in Economics.

The AMCHAM and Malaysian-American Commission of Educational Exchange (MACEE) Scholarship Program, was launched in 1998. The AMCHAM—MACEE Scholarship Program is one of the social responsibility programs initiated by AMCHAM.  AMCHAM and its members have a long history in Malaysia, and play an important role in helping to build the future of Malaysia through these companies’ investments in human capital.  Corporate social responsibility and other ongoing programs are an important way for the Chamber and its members to give back to the community.
