Ambassador Keith Engages Lively Audience at Royal Commonwealth Club

On October 22, 2009, Ambassador Keith gave a talk entitled “Obama: A Breath of Fresh Air” to a large audience at the Royal Commonwealth Club in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.  Invited by the President of the Malaysian Branch of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Datuk Muhammad Feisol Hassan, the Ambassador spoke about the impact of the Obama presidency thus far, and shared his views how US foreign policy under the Obama administration is affecting America’s relationship with Asia, and Southeast Asia in particular.  A lively question-and-answer session followed, during which many members of the audience and posed questions about issues ranging from palm oil, to import tariffs, to the Middle East Peace Process.  Many people shared personal opinions about the U.S. President, and spoke of their hopes for his time in office.
