“Youth Entrepreneurship”talk inspires crowd in Melaka

Local entrepreneur Daniel Cerventus, explains entrepreneurship to a young audience in Melaka.

In support of the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship, on April 10th,the Lincoln Corner located in the State Public Library in Melaka partnered with the U.S. Embassy’s Lincoln Resource Center and Warisan Global to organize an exhibition and talk on Youth Entrepreneurship at the Jaya Jusco shopping center in the UNESCO World Heritage City, for a diverse crowd of over 100 adults and children. Speaker Daniel Cerventus, a local entrepreneur, engaged the crowd in an interactive talk on what it means to be an entrepreneur, some of the challenges faced as a young entrepreneur, and how to exploit the power of social media for entrepreneurship.  Mr. Cerventus sparked lively discussions and sharing of experiences among all participants.

As part of his presentation, the speaker highlighted the upcoming Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship, and free webchats and webcasts offered by CO.NX from April 26-27 for those interested in following the summit. Webchat and webcast flyers and the summit booklet were displayed at the exhibit and distributed to the public.  Among the participants were business and entrepreneurship students from UiTM (University Technology MARA), and Stamford College Melaka, who found the presentation to be very informative and that the various experiences shared among the participants provided a real-life picture of the challenges faced by entrepreneurs.

On April 12 & 13, 2010, this event was featured in Melaka Hari Ini (PDF - 574kb), which has circulation of over 800,000 throughout Melaka State.
