On July 2, US Embassy Kuala Lumpur celebrated the Independence Day of the United States with a reception at the Renaissance Hotel, one of the leading hotels in Kuala Lumpur. Eight hundred-fifty guests, including Malaysian Ministers, members of the parliament, foreign diplomats and government officials attended this traditional and colorful event.

American Professor Worked with 15 Journalists on Narrative Reporting
Professor Janet Steele from George Washington University worked with fifteen journalists from the National News Agency BERNAMA in a three-day workshop on Narrative Journalism on June 22, June 25 and July 1. The workshop focused on narrative news writing as a genre and discussed the goals and the ethics of good journalism in general.
